The visa expiry rule applies only to Indians entering Iran by air. This rule applies only to Indians coming to Iran for the purpose of tourism.
A visa must be obtained from the Iranian mission
If an Indian citizen wants to stay in Iran for a longer period of time and enter Iran more than 6 months, requiring other type of visa, he/she has to obtain the required visa from the Iranian Mission in India.
