Caught without platform ticket?
If you completely ignore the platform ticket then the railway ticket checking staff can impose a minimum fine of Rs 250. In addition, if a passenger is caught on a platform without a platform ticket or journey ticket, a fine of double the fare of the last train leaving the platform is charged.
Railway platform tickets are issued only on the basis of the amount of space available on the platform. This means that platform tickets are not issued to more people than the capacity of the platform. If platform ticket has already been issued on the basis of capacity, the railway staff may refuse to issue the ticket.
